04 Patterned Mini Skirts

Today's trend is Patterned Mini Skirts. I bought my mini skirt at my favourite store Forever 21 (XXI). They have such great clothes at reasonable prices. Since winter is coming up I paired my mini with a black 3/4 length turtle neck with some black tights and my pointy stilleto high heels. I saw a girl the other day with a hot pink mini skirt with a similar pattern. She paired hers with tights too and a boyfriend jacket. This look is cute, girly, and warm for winter!

Enjoy!

P.S. I wish I didn't cut off my shoes at the bottom, but this was the only photo I actually liked. LOL

03 plaid

<< an outdoor theatre/auditorium we found back in Suwon - Kyunghee University! I was so sad, I forgot my camera that day, so my friend was so nice he let me take a few shots with his camera.

Since Sherry mentioned about plaid, here's a post on it. It's sooooo popular here in Korea now. Every single item I look at in a store, has to include one item of plaid. lol I was walking in Seomun Market the other day, and one of the people I was with said, "You really like plaid, don't you?" I was like, "Yes, of course, it's in!" But of course, they are not the people I'd like to shop with...It's so different here, and seems hard to find a good shopping buddy. I have to see how this weekend is (I'm planning to do lots of shopping). Ok, back to the topic of plaid, they have a lot of fitted dress shirts that are plaid. I really like those, and probably will buy one or two more. But plaid shirts can be loose, and you pair it with a belt. I'm beginning to really love belts!! I feel like here, I'm able to go crazy with my shopping as compared to back home, I had to be so budget conscious.

02 Accessorizing your Identity

Accessorizing your identity
By: Sherry

Everywhere you look people have been using accessories to enhance one's appearance and make a statement. Adding accessories to ones wardrobe shares a little story with the rest of the world about yourself, and it often completes one's style. Whether it be a really long necklace that accents the top you are wearing, or a fashionable loose-fitting winter hat, there are many ways to accessorize one's self, including enhancing your own personal belongings. When I look around me, I see many people who have decorated their keychains, bags, and cellphones with many cute and different types of charms. The idea behind doing so? Possibly as a way of identifying what's theirs, but also to show off a bit of their own personality.

To the right are an example of accessories that can be used to dress up one's bag, which I had made myself for my online shop. I was planning on using them solely as a bag accessory, but noticed their potential as a key chain fob, or even a cellphone charm (once converted).

01 Appearance in Korea & vests

Appearance in Korea
By: Janet

If you walk on the streets of Korea, you will see that everyone here really cares about their appearance. Everywhere you go, you see mirrors hanging on walls, they are more abundant than garbage cans! You can find mirrors in subway stations (where you wait for the train), you can even find mirrors in your apartment building before you head up the stairs! Koreans care so much about their looks, that the style here is amazing! For the most part, everyone dresses to impress here. And the style is not simple, everyone seems to be trendy, with their own unique style. So when you come to Korea, you will see lots of people with nice clothes. Be prepared to shop til you drop! :)

>>Trend 01: Vests!
Everyone has to have a vest! I think the style is so classy, and so mature. It can be worn casually too! Although you have to be careful though, you might look like a waiter if you pair it with the wrong thing (ie. long white plain dress shirt, and black dress pants). lol When I went to Seoul, I got excited when I saw a decent looking black vest for only 5,000 won! Back home, I do not own a vest, even though I really wanted one (since it was becoming "in"), so it was perfect!

On the right: I wore my vest during my demo lesson presentation to the class. Sorry the photo quality is bad, I stole the photo off my friend on facebook. :P
